Choosing the Right Scrubs
Choosing Comfortable Scrubs for Long Workdays

Fabric weight, stretch, and fit shape how a twelve-hour shift feels. A practical guide to selecting scrubs that hold up and stay comfortable.
Scrubs are working garments first. The right pair supports movement, manages moisture, and keeps a professional silhouette from the first hour of a shift to the last.
Look for a fabric blend with a small percentage of spandex for recovery, and a mid-weight construction that resists transparency without feeling heavy. Four-way stretch matters most in the shoulders, hips, and knees.
Fit should allow a full range of motion while remaining tailored. Check the rise when seated, the sleeve when reaching overhead, and pocket placement when standing. Pockets that sit too low pull the garment out of line throughout the day.
Finally, plan for laundering. Colorfast dyes and reinforced stitching preserve appearance across frequent industrial washes, which is where most scrubs are truly tested.
